Biswajit Dasgupta

Biswajit Dasgupta, a name that has echoed through the galleries of the Indian Naval fraternity for over four decades. Famously known as ‘Dasu’ among his loved ones, he is a social changemaker who disrupts mediocrity as a lifelong learner.

Starting his journey as a NDA cadet, spending 15 years in apex leadership positions, and retiring as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, he has accomplished unfathomable achievements in his career. He is a visionary leader, an astute professional, an incredible mentor, a loyal and generous friend, and an inspiring role model. Beyond his notable contributions to the Indian Navy, he is a distinguished advocate for education. He has presided over the Navy Education Society, overseeing the administration of 13 schools across India.

Furthermore, he has led the Indian Navy’s Sports Control Board and held the prestigious roles of President and Patron at the East Point Golf Club in Visakhapatnam. His dedication to cultural heritage is evident through his patronage of the INTACH Visakhapatnam Chapter. While pursuing a career in the navy, he consistently nurtured his passion for writing through blogs. Always offering well-informed unbiased insights on national events, he significantly contributed to presenting fresh perspectives on conflicting topics.

Upon retirement, he dedicated himself to further exploring this untapped potential. His zeal for writing has since led to numerous opportunities, including requests for newspaper columns and other engagements.

Keeping the fervor and joy alive through melodious songs of his own, he is an ongoing learner who says, “Why cease learning beyond 60?”
